The Commander Islands Nature and Biosphere Reserve invites volunteers to work on Bering Island in 2021.
We offer an interesting and intense volunteer work in the largest marine reserve of Russia. For volunteers, this is an opportunity not only to serve nature conservation on the edge of the earth but also to see the pristine northern nature of the Commander Islands.

- The number of people is indicated based on the work of one volunteer for 4 weeks
Due to the logistic and climatic features, we invite volunteers who are ready to work on Bering Island for at least four weeks.
The volunteer season this year runs from May to September. This year, the reserve will need volunteers to help employees of science and awareness-raising departments, as well as for the improvement and development of tourist facilities and infrastructure on the islands of Bering and Medny.
Work in the visitor center of the CINBR in the village of Nikolskoye

Job Duties:
- Meeting guests at the visitor center of the reserve;
- Presentation on the activities of the reserve;
- Registration for excursions and assistance in technical support of excursions;
- Work in the souvenir shop (assistance in working with tourists)
- Assistance in the work of awareness-raising department (assistance in conducting classes and excursions with children; preparation of text materials; work with a photo archive).

- Dismantling of two old houses in Kislaya Bay with sorting of materials suitable for further use;
- Construction of a toilet in Kislaya Bay;
- Construction of a service yard in Poludennaya Bay (non-capital structure according to blueprints and sketches);
- Relocation of the information board in Polovina Bay;
- Eco trail marking;
- Painting objects in Komandor Bay;
- Manufacturing of wooden parts and installation of information boards in Komandor Bay;
- General improvement of the territory (grass mowing, equipment of the campfire area and coldproofing the cabin)
- Water monitoring, collection of information on marine emissions, accounting and collection of garbage

Work conditions:
All transport costs to the Bering Island are carried out by the volunteer independently.
FSBI "State Nature Reserve "Komandorsky" provides:
- Information support, transfer from the airport and back (in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and on Bering Island);
- Accommodation in an apartment of the reserve in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, in the village of Nikolskoye and in the cabin at the work sites;
- Transfer on Bering Island to the place of work and back to the village of Nikolskoye (once per three weeks)
- Communication (satellite phone), in cabins without cellular coverage;
- Free tours of the nature reserve after the chosen work is performed
- Meals for volunteers working on the development of the territory (500 rubles per day, according to the list of products approved by the institution);
- Field equipment: tents, sleeping bags, rubber boots, work clothes;
- Accompanying work coordinator;
- Interesting work at the edge of the world and an unforgettable experience.
