In today's difficult and unusual conditions, the Commander Islands Nature and Biosphere Reserve does not give up and is trying new formats of work. You wish to spend your time meaningfully, give children a couple of new dreams and brighten up their self-isolation? Welcome to our online classes!

“Since the whole country is on self-isolation, and studies are carried out remotely, then, after the main school material is over, teachers have the opportunity to conduct distance learning lessons. We decided to join this exciting opportunity. We speak about the inhabitants of our reserve and their special abilities. Many people are surprised to learn that whales can be seen in Russia. Indeed, in our country there are not only dolphins in the Black Sea. And it is just great to use the time at home on self-improvement!" said Anna Strokan, the organizer of the classes and chief specialist of Awareness Raising Department of the reserve.

The first lesson in the new format was held in one of Moscow schools. In 30 minutes, the participants could see with their own eyes the differences betweenbaleen bones of different types of whales, learn about different types of feeding strategies and admire a sperm whale tooth. There is no place for boredom in our classes! Small thematic cartoons and workshops will diversify our meeting and give you new knowledge and skills.

We love our guests and like-minded people, so we are happy to cheer you up and tell you about the baleen and toothed, carnivorous and fish-eating, kind and different cetaceans of the northern part of the Pacific Ocean.
