The month of silence will last from April 18 to May 24. This environmental action is held every year on Bering Island. At this time, visits to the buffer zone of the nature reserve are limited not to disturb the animals during the breeding season.
At the end of April, reindeer calves appear, sea otters cubs are born, arctic foxes equip their burrows for the next litter, and seabirds prepare for nesting. Animals become especially sensitive to odors and sounds, so it is important to exclude any disturbance factors.
